Mr. McGlashen earned his undergraduate degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduating summa cum laude, and elected into Phi Beta Kappa.
He received his Jurist Doctorate degree from the University of Florida College of Law. UF is ranked as one of the top tax law schools in the country, recently ranked 2nd in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. The University of Florida’s Estate & Trust program is also nationally recognized. Mr. McGlashen clerked for Florida’s 8th Judicial Circuit Probate Division while in law school. He received certificates in Real Estate Development and Real Estate Finance from Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Summer Programs, post doctorate.
Prior to registering Bucks County Financial Planning Group, Inc. (BCFPG) as an independent Registered Investment Advisory (RIA), Michael worked in partnership with Capital Planning Advisory Group, Inc. for eight years from Oct 2001 till Nov 2009.
Prior to law school, Mr. McGlashen owned and operated four retail stores, a distribution center, and a consulting business in the Philadelphia area. His retail stores and business ideas were featured on the front page of the Philadelphia Inquirer's Business section in April of 1987. After selling his business interests in 1989, he traveled throughout the country as an independent consultant. His unique combination of business experience and education make him the perfect lead adviser for the busy business owner or executive.
Mr. McGlashen restricts his practice to small business owners, executives, and retirees. He specializes in providing integrated, personalized solutions to individuals in order to help them develop and implement complex estate, business succession, retirement, and investment plans. He is a recognized leader in providing financial and estate planning services to highly affluent individuals.
Although many of his clients already have trusted, long-term advisers (attorney, CPA, stock broker, insurance agent, and others) his work supplements and coordinates the services other advisers provide.
Michael served as President of the Rotary Club of Westlake Village Sunrise, (2017/18) whose motto is "Where friends gather to have fun and do good in the world."
He is a board member of Camarillo Healing Rooms and Westlake Sunrise Foundation.
Currently Co-president of La Reina High School / Middle School Parent Organization.
Formerly he was Chairman of the Board of Auditors for Bensalem township, past board member of Bucks County Housing Finance Board, and elected three times committeeman.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Military Policeman from 1981 to 1987.
After traveling around the country for a number of years and going back to school for eight more years, he came back to Pennsylvania and married a girl from his hometown, Colleen Wagner.
Michael and Colleen have a fourteen-year-old girl named Serena with whom they enjoy monthly daddy/daughter days, plays, cooking, gardening, and the beach. The family's motto is: we travel and have fun as a tribe.
